Eurobricks user "bricksmarlin"
posted some pictures
of his Millennium Falcon and the tweaks he's performed. Unfortunately this forum
doesn't number posts so you'll just have to scroll most of the way down the page
until you see the series of photos.
I really liked the one where he added the freight loading door in the gap between the
mandibles. I believe he was insipried by Marshal Banana's Millennium Falcon. There is
clearly detail there in the movies. So why did the Lego designers overlook this?
Instead this area is just left open exposing the innards of the kit.
I don't remember where I found this but someone posted a Lego Digital Designer model
file (lxf). I'm hosting the
original file on my site
to help people build this part.
I also have the
xml parts list
so you can easily track down the pieces you need to construct this.
I particularly like this modification because it improves the structural integrity just a
little bit in an area of this kit that I think is kind of weak. The ventral rectangular
structure that the forward-most landing gear goes through isn't held on very well to the
frame. This helps to secure it to the doral rectangular structure just a little bit more.
